How the birthday countdown works

Enter the month and day of a birthday and the timer finds the next occurrence from your device's current date. Add the birth year only when you also want to know the age that person will turn.

Today, the next birthday and annual rollover

If the birthday is today, the result celebrates it instead of counting toward next year. After the date passes, the calculator automatically rolls forward to the following year's birthday.

February 29 birthdays

For a leap-day birthday, choose whether non-leap years should be observed on February 28 or March 1. A true February 29 date is used whenever the next year is a leap year.
