The random team generator shuffles a list of names and distributes people across the requested number of teams as evenly as possible. It removes manual selection bias and produces groups quickly for classes, workshops, games and informal work sessions.
Paste or type names separated by line breaks or commas, choose between 1 and 20 teams, then select Generate. If the requested number is greater than the participant count, the tool creates no more teams than there are names and shows every team in a separate responsive card.
Empty entries are ignored and duplicate names are kept only once. Your browser uses cryptographic randomness to shuffle the unique list, then assigns people to teams in rotation, so team sizes differ by at most one. Processing stays on your device; if you deliberately share a result link, the names and groups are included in that URL.

Enter one unique name per line and remove empty or duplicate entries. Random grouping balances team size, not skill, availability or accessibility needs, so review the result when those factors matter.
